About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Process Engineer to join their dynamic team in Aberdeen . This pivotal role will involve optimizing and developing chemical processes to enhance efficiency, safety, and environmental performance across various projects. You will be instrumental in driving process improvements, contributing to design reviews, and ensuring adherence to stringent industry standards. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on challenging projects within the energy sector, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team committed to excellence and sustainable practices in a key industrial hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot complex chemical processes, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new process designs and modifications.
- Develop and maintain Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and process descriptions.
- Collaborate with project teams, operations, and maintenance personnel to ensure seamless process integration and support.
- Lead process safety reviews, including HAZOP studies, and implement recommendations to mitigate risks.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on process engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in process engineering, ideally within the oil and gas or petrochemical industries.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II) and P&ID development tools.
- Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and reaction kinetics.
- Proven experience in process safety management (PSM) and risk assessment methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions.
