Senior Process Optimization Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a results-oriented Senior Process Optimization Engineer to join their team in Sheffield . This role is dedicated to enhancing the performance, efficiency, and reliability of our chemical manufacturing processes. You will lead initiatives to reduce waste, improve yields, lower energy consumption, and ensure adherence to the highest safety and environmental standards. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in process improvement methodologies and a deep understanding of chemical engineering principles applied to existing operations. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and implement process optimization projects using methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
• Analyse process data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
• Develop and pilot new operating strategies and process modifications.
• Conduct economic evaluations of proposed improvements and track their implementation.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and R&D teams to ensure successful process upgrades.
• Mentor junior engineers in process optimization techniques and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience focused on process optimization and continuous improvement in a chemical manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis, data visualization, and process modeling tools.
• Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams to achieve operational improvements.
• Strong knowledge of chemical processes, unit operations, and safety protocols.
