About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Safety Engineer to join their team, focusing on chemical energy solutions. This fully remote role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the safety and integrity of operations within the innovative energy sector , particularly concerning advanced chemical processes. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust process safety management systems, ensuring the highest standards of safety are met across all operational sites. This position requires deep technical knowledge, a proactive approach to risk mitigation, and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams from a remote setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and policies.
- Conduct Hazard and Operability studies (HAZOP), risk assessments, and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA).
- Investigate process safety incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant process safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Develop and deliver process safety training programs to operational staff and management.
- Provide expert guidance on process safety aspects during the design, construction, and operation of chemical energy facilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in process safety engineering , with a focus on chemical or energy industries.
- In-depth knowledge of PSM elements, risk assessment methodologies, and safety design principles.
- Experience with safety instrumented systems (SIS) and functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61511).
- Strong understanding of HAZOP, LOPA, and other risk assessment techniques.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, suitable for a remote work environment .
