Senior Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Senior Process Safety Engineer to join their established operations in Bradford . This critical role involves ensuring the highest standards of safety are maintained across all operational processes within the energy facilities. You will be instrumental in conducting hazard identification, risk assessments, and developing robust safety management systems to prevent incidents. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, LOPA, and HAZID studies.
• Develop, implement, and maintain the company's process safety management (PSM) system.
• Conduct incident investigations and root cause analyses, recommending corrective actions.
• Review engineering designs and modifications to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Develop and deliver process safety training programs to operational staff.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for process safety and report on safety performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in process safety engineering, preferably within the energy sector .
• In-depth knowledge of major accident hazard regulations and guidelines (e.g., COMAH).
• Proven experience with various risk assessment methodologies and safety studies.
• Strong understanding of safety-critical equipment and systems.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills.
