Senior Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Process Safety Engineer to join their team in Bradford, West Yorkshire . This critical role involves ensuring the highest standards of process safety across all operations, mitigating risks, and promoting a robust safety culture. You will lead safety reviews, develop and implement safety procedures, and contribute to a safer working environment for all employees. This position offers a dynamic hybrid working arrangement, allowing for both focused independent work and essential team collaboration, essential for driving safety initiatives in the Bradford region.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and SIL studies.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) systems.
• Conduct incident investigations and root cause analyses, developing preventative actions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on process safety matters to project teams and operations.
• Develop and deliver process safety training programs for staff.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in process safety engineering, with a strong understanding of chemical operations.
• In-depth knowledge of PHA methodologies and risk assessment techniques.
• Experience with PSM regulations (e.g., OSHA PSM, Seveso Directive).
• Strong analytical skills and ability to manage complex safety projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement in a hybrid setting.
