About the Role
Our client, a key operator in the energy sector , is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Safety Engineer to join their team in Bradford . This role is integral to maintaining and enhancing the safety of our client's processing facilities, ensuring robust adherence to stringent safety standards and regulations. You will lead the development and implementation of process safety management programs, conduct critical risk assessments, and drive a culture of safety excellence. This is a vital position for an individual committed to preventing major accidents and ensuring the operational integrity of complex industrial processes, contributing to the company's reputation for safety and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Process Safety Management (PSM) programs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct comprehensive Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA.
- Develop and review Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments and verification processes.
- Oversee the implementation of recommendations arising from PHA studies and safety reviews.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on process safety engineering principles to project and operations teams.
- Investigate process safety incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in process safety engineering, with a strong focus on the chemical or energy industries .
- In-depth knowledge of PSM elements, risk assessment methodologies, and safety design principles.
- Experience with HAZOP studies and other PHA techniques is essential.
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., COMAH, OSHA PSM).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
