About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Safety Engineer to join their world-class team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the UK. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and safety of our client's processing facilities and operations within the Oil & Gas sector . Your expertise will be vital in conducting comprehensive risk assessments, developing safety procedures, and fostering a culture of proactive safety management. This role is perfect for a seasoned professional who is passionate about process safety and seeks a challenging opportunity with significant impact, coupled with the flexibility of remote work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and risk assessments.
- Develop and maintain robust process safety management (PSM) systems and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
- Provide expert advice on process safety aspects for new projects, modifications, and operational changes.
- Conduct incident investigations related to process safety and implement effective corrective actions.
- Champion a strong process safety culture across all levels of the organization through training and engagement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience (minimum 7 years) in process safety engineering within the Oil & Gas industry .
- In-depth knowledge of recognized safety methodologies such as HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, and risk assessment techniques.
- Familiarity with international process safety standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, Seveso Directive).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
