Senior Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly experienced Senior Process Safety Engineer to join their globally distributed team. This is a fully remote position where you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of safety across all our client's Oil & Gas operations . You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing process safety management systems, conducting risk assessments, and driving a strong safety culture from anywhere in the world. This role requires an expert in hazard identification and risk mitigation, dedicated to preventing incidents and safeguarding personnel and assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement robust Process Safety Management (PSM) programs in line with industry best practices and regulations.
• Conduct comprehensive Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA.
• Investigate process safety incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver training on process safety principles and procedures to remote teams.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and regulatory requirements for Oil & Gas facilities .
• Provide technical guidance and support on process safety aspects for new projects and modifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in process safety engineering, with a significant portion within the Oil & Gas industry .
• In-depth knowledge of PSM elements and risk assessment methodologies.
• Experience with safety software and tools for consequence modeling and risk analysis.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of effectively influencing remote stakeholders.
