Senior Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Safety Engineer to enhance safety standards and practices within their operations in Wolverhampton . This critical role focuses on identifying, assessing, and mitigating process-related hazards to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of personnel and the environment. You will lead hazard identification studies, develop safety management systems, and ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct and lead comprehensive Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and What-If studies.
• Develop, implement, and maintain robust Process Safety Management (PSM) systems.
• Perform quantitative risk assessments (QRA) and consequence modeling.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and industry best practices (e.g., COMAH).
• Develop and deliver process safety training programs for operational staff.
• Investigate safety incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in process safety engineering within the chemical, petrochemical, or energy sectors.
• Strong knowledge of hazard identification techniques, risk assessment methodologies, and safety case preparation.
• Familiarity with relevant safety legislation and standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
