Senior Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly qualified Senior Process Safety Engineer to join their expanding team in Glasgow . This critical role is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing robust process safety management systems across their operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety are maintained. You will play a key part in identifying and mitigating process-related risks, conducting hazard studies, and fostering a strong safety culture. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies, Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), and other risk assessment techniques.
• Develop and implement process safety procedures, guidelines, and management systems (PSM).
• Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Perform safety reviews for new projects and modifications to existing facilities.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for process safety and report on safety performance.
• Provide training and guidance to operational personnel on process safety principles and practices.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process safety engineering within the oil and gas industry .
• In-depth knowledge of international process safety standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA PSM, Seveso Directive).
• Proficiency in conducting various risk assessment methodologies like HAZOP and LOPA.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
