About the Role
Our client is searching for a highly experienced Senior Process Safety Engineer to join their dedicated global team, operating on a fully remote basis. This critical role ensures that all chemical processes and operations meet the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing process safety management (PSM) systems, conducting risk assessments, and driving a culture of safety excellence across the organization. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM) programs in accordance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and participate in process hazard analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies, for new and existing processes.
- Conduct incident investigations, root cause analyses (RCAs), and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of safety events.
- Develop and deliver process safety training to engineers, operators, and other relevant personnel.
- Review engineering designs and modifications to ensure compliance with process safety principles and standards.
- Stay abreast of evolving safety regulations and industry trends, providing expert guidance to management and project teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering , Safety Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience focused specifically on process safety engineering in the chemical or related industries.
- In-depth knowledge of PSM elements, including PHA, Management of Change (MOC), Mechanical Integrity, and Emergency Planning.
- Proven experience conducting and facilitating various types of PHAs.
- Strong understanding of relevant safety standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA PSM, Seveso Directive).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
