About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Process Safety Engineer to join their remote team, contributing to the safety and integrity of their chemical operations. This critical role involves developing, implementing, and overseeing robust process safety management systems to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with stringent regulations. You will provide expert guidance on safety studies, hazard analysis, and risk assessments, playing a vital role in protecting personnel, the environment, and company assets. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM) programs in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
- Conduct safety reviews for new projects, process modifications, and management of change (MOC) processes.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective and preventative actions.
- Develop and deliver process safety training to relevant personnel across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety legislation and standards, maintaining all required documentation.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, or a related safety-focused discipline.
- Significant experience (7+ years) in process safety engineering within the chemical, oil & gas, or related industries.
- In-depth knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) principles and standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, Seveso Directive).
- Proven experience in conducting and leading PHAs and incident investigations.
- Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and safety technologies.
- Excellent analytical, report writing, and communication skills, adaptable to a remote work environment.
