About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Procurement Officer to join their established purchasing department in Norwich . This role involves managing significant procurement projects, leading negotiations with key suppliers, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies. You will provide guidance and support to junior members of the team and contribute to the strategic direction of the procurement function. Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement processes for high-value goods and services, including tendering and contract management.
• Lead negotiations with major suppliers to achieve cost savings and secure favorable terms.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies for specific projects or categories.
• Ensure adherence to all company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements in procurement activities.
• Mentor and guide junior procurement staff, fostering their professional development.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand requirements and deliver procurement solutions.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a procurement or purchasing role , with a focus on complex sourcing.
• Strong understanding of procurement best practices, contract law, and risk management.
• Proven negotiation skills and experience in managing supplier performance.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Experience with ERP systems and procurement software.
• Strong leadership potential and excellent communication skills.
