Senior Procurement Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Procurement Officer to join their global procurement function, operating entirely remotely. This role is crucial for managing significant purchasing activities and contributing to strategic sourcing initiatives. You will be responsible for overseeing complex procurement processes, negotiating high-value contracts, and ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods and services that align with organizational objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of procurement best practices, and the ability to lead initiatives in a virtual setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complex sourcing projects and manage key supplier relationships for strategic categories of spend.
• Negotiate and draft high-value contracts, ensuring favourable terms, conditions, and risk mitigation.
• Conduct thorough market analysis and supplier assessments to identify opportunities for cost savings and value enhancement.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies to optimize efficiency and compliance across the organization.
• Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to payment, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards are met.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior procurement staff within the remote team.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in procurement , with a strong focus on strategic sourcing and contract negotiation.
• Proven ability to manage complex procurement projects and deliver significant cost savings and value.
• In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, supply market dynamics, and risk management.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities, with experience in a remote work environment.
