About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to join their dynamic purchasing department in Leicester . Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to identify and onboard new suppliers.
• Negotiate favourable terms, pricing, and contract conditions with vendors, ensuring optimal value and risk mitigation.
• Manage existing supplier relationships, conducting regular performance reviews and fostering collaborative partnerships.
• Analyse market trends and commodity data to inform purchasing decisions and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Oversee the procurement process from requisition to payment, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure timely delivery of required goods and services.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist or similar role, with a strong understanding of purchasing principles.
• Demonstrable success in negotiating complex contracts and managing supplier performance.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market data and financial information.
• Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems; knowledge of SAP is advantageous.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CIPS) are highly desirable.
