Senior Procurement Specialist

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and strategic Senior Procurement Specialist to enhance their procurement capabilities in Liverpool . This role involves taking ownership of key procurement projects, driving complex negotiations, and managing strategic supplier relationships to achieve optimal commercial outcomes. You will contribute to the development and execution of procurement strategies, focusing on cost reduction, risk mitigation, and value creation across various spend categories. The role offers a dynamic hybrid working model, enabling effective collaboration and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage significant procurement projects, from category strategy development through to contract implementation.
• Conduct in-depth market analysis and spend evaluations to identify sourcing opportunities and cost-saving initiatives.
• Lead complex negotiations with suppliers to secure favourable terms, pricing, and service level agreements.
• Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key strategic suppliers, monitoring performance and driving continuous improvement.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and relevant legislation.
• Provide expert guidance and support to internal stakeholders on procurement best practices and strategic sourcing.

Requirements

• Proven track record as a Senior Procurement Specialist or Buyer, with extensive experience in strategic sourcing and complex negotiations.
• In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, contract law, and supply chain management.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, develop business cases, and make informed recommendations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions at senior levels.
• Proficiency with advanced procurement software, e-sourcing platforms, and ERP systems.
• Professional certification, such as CIPS, is highly desirable.
