Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to join their dedicated procurement department in Brighton . This role is central to developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives, managing complex supplier relationships, and driving significant cost savings. You will be responsible for analyzing market trends, negotiating high-value contracts, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commercial acumen, excellent analytical skills, and a proven ability to lead procurement projects in a demanding environment. This is an office-based position requiring consistent on-site presence and collaboration with the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic sourcing projects for key indirect and direct spend categories.
- Negotiate complex contracts and frameworks with national and international suppliers.
- Conduct comprehensive market analysis and risk assessments to inform sourcing strategies.
- Manage and develop relationships with critical suppliers, ensuring performance and value.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical standards, and legal requirements.
- Mentor junior members of the procurement team and support their professional development.
Requirements
- A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management.
- Demonstrated success in leading complex sourcing projects and achieving significant cost savings.
- Expertise in contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and risk mitigation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in procurement tools.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., CIPS) is highly advantageous.
