Senior Production Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Production Engineer to join their operations team based in Belfast . This role is integral to maximizing oil and gas recovery from existing fields, ensuring operational integrity, and optimizing production facilities. You will analyze production data, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills in production optimization, artificial lift systems, and facility operations, working closely with field personnel and other engineering disciplines to achieve production targets safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze production performance from wells and facilities, identifying trends and anomalies.
• Develop and implement strategies for production optimization , including artificial lift system management.
• Troubleshoot operational issues, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers on field development plans and production forecasting.
• Manage the technical aspects of well interventions and workovers to maximize recovery.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in oil and gas production engineering .
• Strong understanding of artificial lift technologies (e.g., ESPs, rod pumps, gas lift).
• Proficiency in production analysis software and data interpretation.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and hands-on operational experience.
