Senior Production Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and skilled Senior Production Engineer to enhance production operations and drive efficiency for their key assets. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe, efficient, and economic production of oil and gas, involving close collaboration with field operations, reservoir engineers, and subsurface teams. The successful candidate will play a key part in optimizing well performance, troubleshooting production issues, and implementing new technologies. This position is based in Newcastle upon Tyne and offers a hybrid working model, blending on-site collaboration with remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze well performance data to identify optimization opportunities.
• Develop and implement strategies for artificial lift systems and surface facilities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production-related challenges, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Provide technical support and guidance to field operations teams.
• Conduct pre-FEED and FEED studies for production facility modifications and upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in production engineering within the oil and gas sector .
• Expertise in production optimization techniques, artificial lift systems (e.g., ESPs, gas lift), and process simulation.
• Familiarity with well testing , fluid properties, and surface facility operations.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills, suitable for a hybrid work environment.
