Senior Production Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Senior Production Engineer to join their operations team in Sunderland . This role is integral to maximizing oil and gas production from existing assets while ensuring operational integrity and efficiency. You will play a key part in optimizing production processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and contributing to the overall profitability of the company's portfolio. The successful candidate will possess a strong technical background and a proactive approach to problem-solving within the dynamic oil and gas industry .

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze production performance data from wells and facilities, identifying trends and deviations.
• Develop and implement strategies for optimizing production, including artificial lift optimization and artificial lift system management.
• Troubleshoot production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
• Manage the integrity and performance of production equipment, including topside facilities, separators, and pumps.
• Collaborate with reservoir, drilling, and facilities engineers to ensure integrated field development and production operations.
• Prepare production forecasts, operational reports, and recommendations for capital expenditure projects.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations pertinent to production operations in the Tyne and Wear region.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in production engineering within the upstream oil and gas sector.
• Strong understanding of production operations, artificial lift systems, and process engineering principles.
• Proficiency in production data analysis software and production system modeling.
• Experience with integrity management of production facilities and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment in Sunderland .
