About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Production Engineer to join their innovative team in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear . This role is central to optimizing the performance of oil and gas wells and production facilities, ensuring maximum hydrocarbon recovery while maintaining operational integrity and safety. You will analyze production data, identify operational issues, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and profitability within the energy sector . This position offers the chance to work within a collaborative environment, contributing to significant upstream projects and driving operational excellence through technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor well and facility performance, analyze production data, and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Troubleshoot production problems, such as artificial lift failures, scale deposition, and hydrate formation, and implement effective solutions.
- Design and implement artificial lift systems (e.g., ESPs, rod pumps, gas lift) and optimize their performance.
- Develop and execute production enhancement projects, including workovers, well interventions, and process modifications.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout production operations.
- Collaborate with reservoir engineers, drilling engineers, and operations personnel to achieve production targets.
Requirements
- Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in production engineering , preferably in the upstream oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of production systems, wellbore flow dynamics, and fluid properties.
- Experience with artificial lift techniques and production optimization software.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to the energy sector .
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
