Senior Project Manager - Infrastructure

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager with extensive experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects in the Southampton area. This is a critical role responsible for the planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex development projects, ensuring they meet stringent quality, safety, and environmental standards. You will be a key leader, driving projects forward and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, including governmental bodies, contractors, and community representatives. This position demands strong leadership and a deep understanding of infrastructure development lifecycles.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end management of major infrastructure projects, from feasibility studies and design to construction and commissioning.
• Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations for complex infrastructure developments.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, permits, and environmental standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee and coordinate with multiple contractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure project milestones are achieved efficiently.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to address potential issues and ensure project success.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, providing regular progress reports and managing expectations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in infrastructure project management .
• Demonstrated success in delivering large-scale, complex infrastructure projects (e.g., civil engineering, utilities, transportation).
• Expertise in project management methodologies, risk management, and contract administration.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in project management software and financial modelling tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; advanced degree or PMP/PRINCE2 is highly valued.
