Senior Project Manager - R&D Initiatives

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and strategic Senior Project Manager to lead critical Research and Development (R&D) initiatives in Cambridge . You will be responsible for guiding groundbreaking projects from concept through to successful implementation, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and scientific rigor. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle for R&D initiatives, from ideation and feasibility studies to prototype development and potential commercialisation pathways.
• Develop detailed project plans, including research objectives, methodologies, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary research teams, scientists, engineers, and external partners to ensure collaborative progress.
• Identify and manage project risks and dependencies inherent in novel research and development activities.
• Facilitate clear communication and reporting of project progress, findings, and potential challenges to senior management and stakeholders.
• Ensure effective knowledge transfer and documentation of research outcomes for future development and intellectual property protection.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Project Manager , with a strong focus on managing Research and Development (R&D) projects.
• Background in a scientific, engineering, or technology-focused field is highly desirable.
• Experience in managing complex projects with inherent uncertainty and evolving requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities, capable of motivating and guiding scientific and technical teams.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid capacity, supporting teams in the Cambridge area.
