Senior Project Manager - Research & Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead innovative Research & Development projects within their cutting-edge facilities in Cambridge . This role is critical for driving the successful development and implementation of new products and technologies from concept to market. You will manage cross-functional teams, oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring that R&D objectives are met efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong scientific or technical background combined with exceptional project management skills and a passion for innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of R&D projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and resources, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
• Coordinate activities of R&D teams, including scientists, engineers, and technicians, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
• Ensure adherence to scientific methodologies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements relevant to R&D.
• Communicate project status, key findings, and challenges to stakeholders, including senior management and technical leadership.
• Facilitate effective collaboration with external partners, academic institutions, and suppliers as required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in project management , with a strong emphasis on Research & Development or product development.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex scientific or technical projects.
• Solid understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Background in a relevant scientific or technical field (e.g., Life Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science).
• Experience with intellectual property management and stage-gate project processes is beneficial.
