Senior Project Manager - Utilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead significant Utilities projects in Derby, Derbyshire . This role is pivotal in overseeing the planning, execution, and successful completion of projects related to energy, water, or telecommunications infrastructure. You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end delivery of utilities projects , including network upgrades, new installations, and maintenance programs.
• Develop detailed project plans, resource allocation, and financial forecasts.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards within the utilities sector.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project milestones are met.
• Oversee risk management and implement mitigation strategies to prevent project delays or cost overruns.
• Communicate project status and key information to stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and community representatives.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Project Manager in the utilities sector (e.g., water, gas, electricity, telecoms).
• Demonstrable success in managing capital projects and operational improvements within infrastructure environments.
• Strong knowledge of relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience working in or managing projects within the Derby area is a plus.
