Senior QA Engineer - Automation Testing

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Senior QA Engineer to lead their automated testing efforts in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and reliability of their software products by designing, developing, and maintaining robust automated test frameworks. You will collaborate closely with development teams to integrate testing early in the development cycle, identify defects, and advocate for quality best practices. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using various testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
• Create and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test strategies for complex software applications.
• Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to ensure continuous testing and rapid feedback loops.
• Identify, document, and track software defects with detailed descriptions and reproducible steps.
• Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand requirements and ensure adequate test coverage.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on test automation .
• Proficiency in programming or scripting languages used for automation (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript).
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools and frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Experience with API testing tools and methodologies.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
