About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Radio Access Network (RAN) Engineer to join their core engineering team in Edinburgh . You will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functionality and capacity of cellular networks, contributing significantly to the delivery of high-quality mobile services. Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and optimize RAN components, including base stations, antennas, and related hardware/software.
• Conduct performance analysis, identify degradation issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain network quality.
• Troubleshoot complex RAN problems, collaborating with other engineering disciplines to ensure timely resolution.
• Develop strategies for capacity planning and network expansion to meet future demand.
• Stay current with new RAN technologies, standards (e.g., 4G LTE, 5G NR), and vendor solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers within the RAN team in Edinburgh .

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in Radio Access Network (RAN) engineering .
• In-depth knowledge of cellular network technologies, protocols, and architectures (LTE, 5G NR).
• Proficiency with RAN planning, optimization, and troubleshooting tools.
• Experience with vendor equipment from leading RAN providers is essential.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure in Edinburgh .
