About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Research Associate to join their pioneering Stem Cell Biology research group in Nottingham . This role focuses on the generation, characterization, and application of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and other stem cell types for therapeutic development. You will be responsible for conducting complex experiments, managing projects, and contributing to the overall research strategy. Key Responsibilities
- Perform experiments related to stem cell culture, differentiation, and genome editing.
- Characterize stem cell populations using techniques such as flow cytometry, immunocytochemistry, and gene expression analysis.
- Develop and optimize protocols for the efficient generation and maintenance of stem cell lines.
- Contribute to project planning, experimental design, and data interpretation.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations.
- Mentor and train junior research associates and technicians.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Stem Cell Biology, Developmental Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, particularly with pluripotent stem cells.
- Proficiency in techniques for stem cell characterization and differentiation.
- Experience with genome editing technologies (e.g., CRISPR/Cas9) is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of stem cell biology principles and applications.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
