Senior Research Chemist - Synthetic Organic

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Chemist with expertise in Synthetic Organic Chemistry to join their innovative research division. This is a critical, fully remote role where you will design and execute complex multi-step syntheses to create novel compounds for drug discovery programs. Your work will directly contribute to developing new therapeutic agents, driving scientific advancement from your home laboratory setup. Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute complex multi-step synthetic routes to produce novel organic molecules with specific therapeutic targets.
• Optimize reaction conditions, purification methods, and scale-up processes for synthetic targets.
• Characterize synthesized compounds using a variety of analytical techniques, including NMR, MS, and HPLC.
• Conduct literature searches and stay current with the latest advancements in synthetic organic chemistry.
• Collaborate with computational chemists and biologists to design compounds with desired properties and contribute to structure-activity relationship (SAR) studies.

Requirements

• PhD in Organic Chemistry or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of postdoctoral or industrial experience in synthetic organic chemistry.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and executing challenging synthetic routes, including asymmetric synthesis and catalysis.
• Proficiency in modern analytical techniques for compound characterization (NMR, Mass Spectrometry, HPLC, etc.).
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong publication record are essential for this remote position.
