Senior Research Fellow - Oncology

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Research Fellow to join their leading Oncology research team in Sheffield . This role is central to driving innovative research aimed at understanding cancer biology and developing novel therapeutic strategies. You will lead independent research projects, mentor junior scientists, and contribute to a vibrant scientific community focused on making significant advancements in cancer treatment. Key Responsibilities

• Lead independent research projects focused on elucidating mechanisms of cancer development, progression, and therapeutic resistance.
• Design and execute sophisticated experiments using cell culture, molecular biology, and biochemical techniques relevant to oncology.
• Analyze and interpret complex datasets, ensuring scientific rigor and reproducibility.
• Mentor and guide junior research staff, fostering their scientific development and productivity.
• Collaborate with team members and external partners to advance oncology research programs.
• Prepare high-quality manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at scientific meetings.

Requirements

• PhD in Oncology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant post-doctoral research experience in cancer biology or a related area.
• Demonstrated expertise in key cancer research areas, such as signaling pathways, tumor microenvironment, or immunotherapy.
• Proficiency in a broad range of laboratory techniques, including molecular cloning, Western blotting, and cell-based assays.
• Strong track record of scientific publications and presentations.
