Senior Research Scientist - Analytical Chemistry

About the Role

Our client is searching for a highly experienced Senior Research Scientist in Analytical Chemistry to join their dedicated R&D team in Wolverhampton . This position requires a deep expertise in advanced analytical techniques and a passion for solving complex chemical challenges. You will lead critical projects focused on method development, validation, and sample analysis, ensuring the highest standards of scientific integrity. This is a key role within the West Midlands , contributing to the development of innovative products and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods for diverse sample matrices using techniques such as HPLC, GC, MS, and spectroscopy.
• Perform complex sample analyses to support research and development projects.
• Interpret analytical data, troubleshoot instrument issues, and ensure data quality and compliance.
• Lead method development initiatives and contribute to the scientific strategy of the analytical team.
• Mentor and train junior analytical chemists.
• Author technical reports, contribute to publications, and present findings.

Requirements

• PhD in Analytical Chemistry or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in analytical chemistry, preferably within an R&D setting.
• Expertise in a range of analytical instrumentation (e.g., LC-MS, GC-MS, NMR, ICP-MS).
• Strong understanding of method validation principles and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to lead projects and mentor junior staff.
