Senior Research Scientist - Bioinformatics

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Research Scientist specializing in Bioinformatics to join their cutting-edge R&D department in London . Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced bioinformatics algorithms and statistical models for analyzing large-scale genomic, proteomic, and transcriptomic data.
• Design and execute computational experiments to identify novel drug targets and biomarkers.
• Collaborate with experimental biologists to interpret results and design follow-up validation studies.
• Build and maintain robust data analysis pipelines and workflows using scripting languages and specialized software.
• Present research findings to internal teams, cross-functional groups, and at scientific conferences.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics , Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven track record of developing and applying computational methods to biological problems, with at least 5 years of post-doctoral or industry experience.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or R, and experience with bioinformatics tools and databases.
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization techniques.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-experts.
