Senior Research Scientist - Drug Discovery

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Research Scientist to join their innovative drug discovery team in Aberdeen . You will be instrumental in designing and executing complex experimental strategies, contributing to the progression of early-stage drug candidates through the pipeline. Key Responsibilities

• Design and conduct sophisticated in vitro and in vivo experiments to investigate disease mechanisms and evaluate potential drug candidates.
• Develop and validate novel assays for high-throughput screening and target engagement studies.
• Analyze complex datasets, interpret results, and draw meaningful conclusions to guide research strategy.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports, research summaries, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Mentor junior research staff, fostering a culture of scientific rigor and collaboration.
• Collaborate effectively with medicinal chemists, pharmacologists, and other interdisciplinary teams to advance projects.

Requirements

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, or a related life science discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in drug discovery research.
• Demonstrated expertise in assay development, including various biochemical and cellular assay formats.
• Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., GraphPad Prism, R) and statistical methods.
• Proven track record of scientific publication and presentation in relevant fields.
• Experience with compound management and screening platforms is highly desirable.
