Senior Research Scientist - Drug Discovery

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Research Scientist to join their dynamic drug discovery team based in Leicester . This pivotal role involves leading innovative research projects aimed at identifying and validating novel therapeutic targets. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of complex in vitro and in vivo experiments to identify and validate new drug targets.
• Analyze and interpret experimental data, generating high-quality reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and scientific publications.
• Develop and optimize new assays and methodologies to support drug discovery programs.
• Mentor junior scientists and research associates, fostering a culture of scientific excellence and collaboration.
• Manage project timelines and resources effectively, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.
• Stay abreast of the latest scientific literature and technological advancements relevant to drug discovery.

Requirements

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry research experience in drug discovery .
• Proven expertise in assay development, target validation , and lead optimization.
• Strong experience with various biological techniques, including cell culture, molecular biology, and biochemical assays.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of scientific publications.
• Proficiency in data analysis software and statistical methods.
