Senior Research Scientist - Drug Discovery

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Scientist with a strong background in Drug Discovery to join their pioneering research team. You will play a crucial role in identifying and validating novel therapeutic targets, designing small molecules, and advancing drug candidates through the pre-clinical pipeline. Key Responsibilities

• Lead projects focused on target identification, validation, and hit-to-lead optimization in therapeutic areas.
• Design and synthesize novel small molecules with desired pharmacological properties.
• Develop and implement in vitro and in vivo assays to assess compound efficacy and safety.
• Collaborate with computational chemists and biologists to guide structure-activity relationship (SAR) studies.
• Manage external research collaborations and CRO relationships effectively.
• Contribute to patent filings and scientific publications detailing discovery efforts.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology, Organic Chemistry, or a related life sciences discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology drug discovery.
• Proven expertise in small molecule drug design, synthesis, and optimization.
• Experience with various assay technologies and pharmacology principles.
• Strong understanding of biological pathways and disease mechanisms relevant to therapeutic areas.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills for a remote work environment.
