Senior Research Scientist - Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK)

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Research Scientist with a specialization in Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) to join their fully remote, high-caliber R&D team. This role is essential for advancing preclinical drug candidates by evaluating their absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) properties. You will design and execute critical DMPK studies, analyze complex data, and provide strategic insights to guide compound selection and development decisions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of drug disposition principles and a proven track record in a remote research setting, contributing to the successful progression of our client's pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, conduct, and interpret in vitro and in vivo DMPK studies to assess drug candidate behavior.
• Develop and validate bioanalytical methods for quantifying drug and metabolite concentrations.
• Perform metabolic pathway identification and characterize drug transporters.
• Collaborate closely with medicinal chemists, toxicologists, and preclinical development teams in a remote capacity.
• Utilize PBPK modeling to predict human pharmacokinetics and inform dosing strategies.
• Author comprehensive study reports and contribute to regulatory submissions.

Requirements

• PhD in Pharmacology , Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related discipline with a focus on DMPK.
• 5+ years of industry experience in drug metabolism and pharmacokinetic research.
• Extensive experience with LC-MS/MS bioanalysis and various in vitro ADME assay systems.
• Strong understanding of drug metabolism pathways, enzyme kinetics, and drug transport mechanisms.
• Experience with PBPK modeling software is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, data interpretation, and problem-solving skills, adept for remote collaboration.
