Senior Research Scientist - Molecular Biology

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Research Scientist with expertise in Molecular Biology to join their expanding R&D division in Wolverhampton . This hybrid role involves conducting advanced laboratory research while also allowing for remote analysis and reporting. You will play a key role in designing and executing experiments that contribute to the development of new products and technologies. Key Responsibilities

• Design, perform, and optimize a wide range of molecular biology experiments, including DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, qPCR, cloning, and gene expression analysis.
• Develop and validate new molecular assays and protocols to support research objectives.
• Analyze experimental data rigorously, interpret results, and present findings clearly in written reports and oral presentations.
• Troubleshoot experimental issues and proactively identify solutions to ensure project progression.
• Collaborate with other scientists and research staff, contributing to team-based research projects.
• Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records and contribute to the laboratory's operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant post-graduate or industry experience in molecular biology research.
• Proven expertise in various molecular techniques, with a strong emphasis on nucleic acid manipulation and analysis.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture and transfection/transduction methods is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in data analysis software and statistical interpretation of experimental results.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
