About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a talented Senior Research Scientist to join their dedicated Oncology Drug Discovery team, operating fully remotely. This position will be at the forefront of identifying and developing novel therapeutic strategies for cancer treatment. You will leverage your expertise in cancer biology and drug discovery to design and execute innovative research programs, analyze complex biological data, and collaborate with a diverse team of scientists. Key Responsibilities
- Design and conduct experimental studies to identify and validate novel oncology targets and drug candidates.
- Utilize a range of cell-based assays, molecular biology techniques, and potentially in vivo models to assess drug efficacy and mechanisms of action.
- Analyze and interpret complex datasets, including omics data, to generate actionable insights.
- Collaborate closely with medicinal chemists, pharmacologists, and other R&D colleagues to advance drug discovery programs.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in oncology research and translational medicine.
- Prepare scientific reports, presentations, and contribute to publications and patent applications.
Requirements
- PhD in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or a related life science field.
- A minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in oncology drug discovery.
- Proven expertise in cancer biology, signaling pathways, and therapeutic intervention strategies.
- Hands-on experience with cell-based assays, molecular cloning, gene editing (e.g., CRISPR), and potentially flow cytometry or western blotting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex biological data.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for working effectively within a fully remote team environment.
