About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Research Scientist in Pharmacology to join their vibrant research and development center in Stoke-on-Trent . This hybrid role allows for collaborative work in state-of-the-art labs combined with flexible remote working for data analysis and report writing. You will play a key role in preclinical drug discovery, designing and executing studies to evaluate the efficacy and safety of novel therapeutic compounds. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled pharmacologist to contribute to innovative drug development pipelines and make a real impact on patient health, working within a supportive and forward-thinking team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and conduct in vivo and in vitro pharmacological studies to assess drug candidates.
- Evaluate compound efficacy, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics.
- Analyze complex experimental data and interpret results to inform drug development strategies.
- Develop and validate new pharmacological assays and models.
- Collaborate closely with chemists, biologists, and toxicologists to advance projects.
- Author study reports, contribute to regulatory submissions, and present findings to scientific committees.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Toxicology, or a related biomedical science.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in preclinical drug discovery research.
- Proven expertise in designing and executing a variety of pharmacological assays.
- Strong understanding of drug action mechanisms and disease pathology.
- Experience with data analysis software and statistical methods.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to lead research efforts.
