Senior Reservoir Engineer - Subsurface Exploration

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Reservoir Engineer to join their subsurface exploration team in Edinburgh . This critical role focuses on evaluating and optimizing hydrocarbon recovery from reservoirs, utilizing advanced modeling techniques and geological data. You will contribute to strategic decision-making for field development, production optimization, and reserve estimation, working within a team of geoscientists and engineers dedicated to maximizing asset value. This position offers the chance to work on diverse and challenging reservoirs, pushing the boundaries of reservoir management and production enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex reservoir simulation models to predict reservoir performance and optimize production strategies.
• Conduct detailed reserve assessments and economic evaluations for oil and gas fields.
• Analyze production data, well logs, and core samples to understand reservoir characteristics and dynamics.
• Recommend appropriate enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques and development plans.
• Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and drilling engineers to integrate subsurface data and optimize exploration and development efforts.
• Mentor junior reservoir engineers and contribute to the team's technical knowledge base.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in reservoir engineering , with a strong focus on simulation and field development.
• Proficiency in industry-standard reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, Petrel RE).
• Solid understanding of petroleum geology , petrophysics, and production engineering.
• Experience with enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods and uncertainty analysis.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
