Senior Reservoir Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a leading player in the Oil & Gas industry , is seeking an experienced Senior Reservoir Engineer to join their dynamic team in Aberdeen . This pivotal role involves leveraging advanced analytical techniques and sophisticated software to assess and optimize hydrocarbon recovery from reservoirs. You will contribute directly to the strategic planning and execution of field development, production enhancement, and long-term asset management. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of reservoir characterization, fluid flow, and economic evaluation, playing a critical part in maximizing the value of our client's upstream operations in the North Sea and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive reservoir studies, including static and dynamic modelling, to understand reservoir behavior and predict future performance.
• Develop and implement optimized field development plans and production strategies to enhance hydrocarbon recovery.
• Perform economic evaluations and risk assessments for new projects and existing assets, providing data-driven recommendations.
• Collaborate with geoscience, drilling, and production engineering teams to integrate reservoir insights into overall field operations.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical advancement of the reservoir engineering discipline within the organization.
• Monitor production trends, analyze performance data, and recommend interventions to address production challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in reservoir engineering within the Oil & Gas sector .
• Proficiency in industry-standard reservoir simulation software (e.g., Petrel, Eclipse, tNavigator).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven track record in reservoir characterization and performance analysis.
• Experience with unconventional reservoirs or enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques is a plus.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to present complex technical information clearly.
