Senior Reservoir Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a leading innovator in the energy sector , is seeking a highly experienced Senior Reservoir Engineer to join their dynamic team based in Aberdeen, Scotland, UK . This role is pivotal in optimizing hydrocarbon recovery from existing fields and evaluating new exploration opportunities. You will play a crucial part in the technical decision-making process, contributing to the company's strategic growth and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain reservoir models using advanced simulation software to predict reservoir performance and optimize production strategies.
• Conduct thorough reserve assessments and economic evaluations for both existing assets and new prospects.
• Analyze production data, well test results, and geological information to identify opportunities for improved oil recovery (IOR) and enhanced oil recovery (EOR).
• Collaborate with geoscientists, drilling engineers, and production engineers to ensure integrated field development planning.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for management and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior reservoir engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices and workflows.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in reservoir engineering within the oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency in industry-standard reservoir simulation software (e.g., Petrel RE, Eclipse, CMG).
• Strong understanding of reservoir characterization, fluid flow in porous media, and unconventional reservoirs .
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
