Senior Reservoir Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Reservoir Engineer to join their dynamic team in Aberdeen . This pivotal role involves the in-depth analysis, modeling, and optimization of hydrocarbon reservoirs to maximize economic recovery. You will work on challenging projects, contributing vital expertise to exploration, development, and production strategies. The successful candidate will collaborate with geoscientists, production engineers, and management to ensure efficient and sustainable reservoir management, playing a key part in shaping the company's future energy initiatives in a critical sector for the UK economy.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed reservoir simulation models using industry-standard software.
• Conduct static and dynamic reservoir characterization studies to define reservoir properties and performance.
• Perform volumetric calculations and uncertainty assessments for reserves and resources.
• Recommend and implement optimal development and production strategies, including enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques.
• Monitor reservoir performance, analyze production data, and provide forecasts for future production.
• Collaborate with drilling and completions teams to ensure well designs align with reservoir objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in reservoir engineering within the oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency with reservoir simulation software (e.g., ECLIPSE, PETREL RE, INTERSECT).
• Strong understanding of core physics, fluid flow in porous media, and geological concepts .
• Experience with data analysis and statistical methods for reservoir characterization.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
