Senior Scientist - Computational Chemistry

About the Role

Our client is actively recruiting for a highly experienced Senior Scientist specializing in Computational Chemistry to join their innovative research and development department. This role is entirely remote and requires a proactive individual who can lead the design and execution of computational studies that underpin drug discovery and materials science projects. You will leverage advanced computational methodologies to predict molecular properties, design novel compounds, and optimize existing structures. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and apply advanced computational chemistry techniques, including molecular modeling, docking, virtual screening, and QM/MM methods.
• Design novel molecules with desired properties for drug discovery or material science applications.
• Analyze large datasets to identify structure-activity relationships (SAR) and guide experimental efforts.
• Collaborate closely with medicinal chemists, biologists, and material scientists to integrate computational findings into project strategies.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in computational chemistry software and methodologies, implementing new tools as appropriate.

Requirements

• PhD in Computational Chemistry , Theoretical Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of post-PhD experience in computational chemistry, preferably within the pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
• Proficiency with standard computational chemistry software packages (e.g., Schrodinger, Gaussian, Amber).
• Strong understanding of quantum mechanics, statistical mechanics, and physical organic chemistry principles.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, vital for a remote working environment and interaction with teams globally.
