Senior Scientist - Drug Discovery

About the Role

Our client seeks an accomplished Senior Scientist to play a key role in their Drug Discovery unit based in Liverpool . This position involves leading research efforts to identify and validate novel drug targets and develop innovative therapeutic strategies. You will work within a state-of-the-art research facility, contributing expertise in various stages of the drug discovery pipeline, from target identification to early-stage development. Collaboration with internal teams and external partners will be essential. Key Responsibilities

• Lead research projects focused on identifying and validating novel therapeutic targets.
• Design and execute experiments using a range of biochemical, cellular, and molecular techniques.
• Develop and optimize assays for screening compound libraries and evaluating drug efficacy.
• Analyze complex data sets and interpret results to inform project strategy and decision-making.
• Collaborate effectively with medicinal chemists, pharmacologists, and other R&D teams.

Requirements

• PhD in Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of industry experience in drug discovery or a closely related field.
• Proven track record in target identification and validation, assay development, and/or small molecule drug discovery.
• Strong understanding of disease biology and translational research principles.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
