Senior Scientist - Molecular Biology

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Scientist to join their esteemed Molecular Biology research group in Liverpool . This role will involve leading complex experimental projects focused on understanding cellular mechanisms and developing novel therapeutic strategies. You will contribute significantly to the scientific direction of the team, mentor junior researchers, and drive the successful execution of key research objectives within a state-of-the-art laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and analyze complex molecular biology experiments, including gene cloning, expression analysis, and protein characterization.
• Develop and validate new assays and experimental methodologies to support drug discovery and development programs.
• Interpret experimental data, troubleshoot technical challenges, and provide insightful scientific direction.
• Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and manuscripts for internal and external dissemination.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including chemists and pharmacologists.
• Mentor and guide junior scientists and research associates, fostering a culture of scientific rigor and collaboration.

Requirements

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related life science discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in molecular biology research .
• Extensive experience with a wide range of molecular biology techniques, including PCR, qPCR, Western blotting, ELISA, and mammalian cell culture.
• Proven ability to design and execute complex experiments, interpret results, and troubleshoot effectively.
• Experience with gene editing technologies (e.g., CRISPR) is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
