About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Secondary School Teacher specialising in Mathematics to join a thriving educational institution in Leicester . This pivotal role involves inspiring students aged 11-18, fostering a deep understanding and enthusiasm for mathematical concepts, and contributing to the overall academic excellence of the school. You will play a key role in curriculum development, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring that all students achieve their full potential in a supportive and challenging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, tailoring content to diverse learning needs.
• Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and resources to enhance student comprehension and application of mathematical principles.
• Assess student progress through a variety of methods, providing constructive feedback and targeted support to aid academic growth.
• Lead departmental initiatives, contributing to curriculum design and pedagogical advancements within the mathematics faculty.
• Mentor and guide newly qualified teachers and teaching assistants, fostering a collaborative and professional learning community.
• Organise and supervise extracurricular mathematical clubs and competitions to promote student engagement beyond the classroom.

Requirements

• A relevant degree in Mathematics or a related field, coupled with a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed.).
• Proven experience teaching secondary school mathematics, with a strong track record of academic achievement for students.
• In-depth knowledge of the UK national curriculum for mathematics and current educational best practices.
• Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive and stimulating learning atmosphere.
• Proficiency in utilising educational technology and digital tools to support teaching and learning.
