About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Security Engineer to bolster their cybersecurity defenses in Oxford . This role is essential for safeguarding the company's digital assets and ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of its data. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security systems, policies, and procedures. Working within a hybrid model, you will collaborate with IT and development teams to identify vulnerabilities, mitigate risks, and respond to security incidents. This is a critical role for protecting the organization in an ever-evolving threat landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs.
- Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests.
- Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures across the organization.
- Respond to and investigate security incidents, providing timely resolution and post-incident analysis.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure security is integrated into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Stay informed about emerging security threats and vulnerabilities, recommending and implementing appropriate countermeasures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in information security or cybersecurity roles.
- Strong knowledge of network security principles, encryption, authentication, and authorization.
- Experience with security assessment tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with relevant security compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
