Senior Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to join their remote-first security team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of detecting, analysing, and responding to cyber threats in real-time, protecting the organisation's critical assets. You will leverage advanced security tools and technologies, contributing to threat intelligence, incident response, and the continuous improvement of SOC operations. This is a critical position for a proactive security professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is dedicated to maintaining a strong security posture for a fully remote organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events from various sources, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection tools.
• Perform threat detection and analysis, investigating potential security incidents and categorising their severity.
• Conduct initial response activities to contain and mitigate security threats.
• Develop and refine detection rules and procedures to improve the accuracy and efficiency of threat identification.
• Participate in threat hunting activities to proactively identify and address advanced persistent threats (APTs).
• Document all security incidents, investigation findings, and response actions thoroughly.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or similar security monitoring role.
• Proficiency with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, ELK Stack) and other security monitoring tools.
• Strong understanding of common attack vectors, threat intelligence, and incident response methodologies .
• Experience with network traffic analysis and endpoint forensics.
• Relevant security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, GCIH) are a plus.
