Senior Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to join their high-performing security team, operating remotely. This role is critical for the continuous monitoring, detection, and initial response to cyber threats targeting the organisation's infrastructure. You will leverage advanced security tools and threat intelligence to identify and analyse potential security incidents, escalating critical issues and contributing to incident response efforts. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts from various sources, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection tools.
• Perform initial analysis and triage of security events to identify potential threats and incidents.
• Investigate security incidents, gathering evidence and documenting findings thoroughly.
• Escalate critical security incidents to the incident response team with detailed information.
• Develop and refine detection rules and use cases for security monitoring systems.
• Contribute to threat hunting activities to proactively identify and mitigate risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment.
• Strong understanding of threat detection methodologies and incident response procedures.
• Proficiency with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, ELK Stack) and other security tools.
• Knowledge of common attack vectors, malware, and network protocols.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Relevant certifications such as GCIH, GCIA, or CISSP are highly desirable.
